Today in Mr De Soysa's class we learnt about the Achievement Standards in Science and how much credits we earn through out the year.We also learnt how to plan out an investigation step by step.

A pull or push otherwise known as Force , If you physically push,pull,twist you are applying Force.
There are different types of forces such as gravitational force, contact force, and also action at a distance force. force can be helpful when trying to score a goal in soccer if enough force is applied to the ball it will strike forward depending on how hard you kicked it  

Need for speed

Distance is a measure to find out how much area is covered by a moving body when it is traveled from one point to the other.

Speed and velocity: Speed is Distance traveled by any object in a unit time is called speed. It is scalar quantity and velocity is distance traveled by any object in a unit time (or specified time).

If a car travels 280 km at a speed of 70 km/hour then the time taken can be calculated.

Time = Distance/speed = 280/70 = 4 hours

If a man is running for 6 hours at a speed of 12 km/hr. How much distance will he travel after 6 hrs.

Distance = speed x time = 12x6 = 72 km

If a train travels 50 km in first 30 mins, then 40 km in the next 20 mins & in total it travels 150 km in 1 hour 30 mins. How long did it travel in the last 40 mins. What is its average speed?

Social Reflection

In Term Two I conducted a Social Inquiry on Poverty & Child Labour in Eritrea. One of the main causes of Poverty in Eritrea was because half of the population lives below the poverty line. The gross domestic product (GDP) is one of the lowest in the world, which means the on an average, an Eritrean person earns 100 times less than someone in Spain. Another cause is Child Labour. Children’s lives are often endangered by disease, a lack of vaccinations, poor hygiene and so on. Only 5% of the Eritrean population has access to improved sanitation facilities. As a result, hygiene is badly lacking in the majority of villages with a lack of toilet facilities, healthy washing areas, and soap.

Human Rights - Social Inquiry

This term we have been studying the issue of Human Rights. Your main assessment for this unit is to conduct a social inquiry and take part in a social action.

This assessment covers 5 key aspects

You will work in pairs for the whole assessment.

1. Identify a HUMAN RIGHTS issues that is currently impacting people and places in the    world.  

We will conduct a Social Inquiry on the Human Rights issue of  ISIS . Our case study will focus on the country of Syria.

2.You must write an introduction, describing the issue, where it is happening and who is affected by it!
