Introduction : The Human Rights issue that we will be researching is The right to Safety“  The reason why we have chosen this topic ...

Your  Social Inquiry must cover the  following aspects
1* Define the Human Rights Issues
2* Describe the causes
3* Explain the consequences / effects
4* Solutions ‘Social Justice”Action (problem solving)
5* Perspectives - Two Contrasting
6* Summary/Conclusion - Reflect / Predict

3. Write 5 - 6  focus questions which will guide your research

Key Questions are :

Google Site

4. Find information to answer your questions.
  • You must have at least one primary and two secondary sources.

Task :When looking for information to answer your research questions, you may use either
a  Primary source or Secondary source.
* What is the difference between Primary and Secondary Sources ?

5. Find different points of view about your human rights issue.
You should find at least two different perspectives.

6. Find examples of how people and organisation participate in social action relating to your human rights issue.

Atom Then & Now

  • All matter consists of tiny particles called atoms. Dalton and others imagined the atoms that composed all matter as tiny, solid spheres in various stages of motion.

  • Atoms are indestructible and unchangeable. Atoms of an element cannot be created, destroyed, divided into smaller pieces, or transformed into atoms of another element. Dalton based this hypothesis on the law of conservation of mass as stated by Antoine Lavoisier and others around 1785.

  • Elements are characterized by the weight of their atoms. Dalton suggested that all atoms of the same element have identical weights. Therefore, every single atom of an element such as oxygen is identical to every other oxygen atom. However, atoms of different elements, such as oxygen and mercury, are different from each other.

  • In chemical reactions, atoms combine in small, whole-number ratios. Experiments that Dalton and others performed indicated that chemical reactions proceed according to atom to atom ratios which were precise and well-defined.

  • When elements react, their atoms may combine in more than one whole-number ratioDalton used this assumption to explain why the ratios of two elements in various compounds, such as oxygen and nitrogen in nitrogen oxides, differed by multiples of each other.

Pollination

What is Pollination?
Pollination is the transfer of pollen to stigma, ovule, flower, or plant to allow fertilization.
Why is it Necessary?
Pollination is important because it leads to production of fruits we can eat, and seeds that will create more plants.

Types of Pollination?
Two types of pollination, called self-pollination and cross-pollination

  • Self pollination- It is the more basic type of pollination because it only involves one plant.
  • Cross-pollination- Pollination of a flower or plant with pollen from another flower or plant.
  • Water-pollination- This type of pollination occurs when pollen drifts on water to contact flowers directly, thereby allowing certain plants to reproduce.
  • Air-pollination-
  • Insect-pollination- Is a form of pollination whereby pollen or plants, especially but not only of flowering plants, is distributed by insects.

The Blue Djinn od Babylon

I've just started reading a book about Djinn otherwise known as Djinni or Genies. The two characters that it mainly concerntrates on are two kids named Philippa and John. It also revolved around there mother and Djinn that is mostly known in the Djinn communities as Layla. Whch is mostly known as Miss Grant.

But the difference from Philippa and John is they are half human and half Djinn. Their mother is a Djinn known as Layla (Miss Grant) and their father is a human known as Edward (Mr Grant).A Djinn is a creation of fire and it's powers/abblities are very weak when it is winter. That is why they are so known to be found in desserts. Also a human is a Creature of Earth and has slim to no power.

In many of the paragraphes it was meantioned that there were good Djinn clans and evil Djinn clans. The Evil ones were Djinn that made halloween by making the human dress up as monsters and give them snacks, feast and even sacrifices. The evil clans were named Ghul, the Shaitans and the most evil clan was Ifrit.

Thats most of what I have read.
